Initially created to pay homage to one of the greatest liberators in history, Simon Bolivar, the premium, hand-made Bolivar cigar commands authority with its full-flavored, bold flavors that are never overwhelming. Bolivar is one of the oldest and most infamous names in the cigar industry and behind the name lies a rich, long history in premium cigar-making dating back as far as 1901. The Bolivar 2005 is truly a tribute to its Cuban heritage with its reddish, dark ligero wrapper from San Agustin, Honduras, along with its long-leaf blend of Dominican Republic tobaccos and 2 different Nicaraguan fillers (of which one is grown on the island of Ometepe) and a binder that is a forgotten Connecticut leaf called Havana. A distinctive earthy sweetness lingers on the aftertaste, a characteristic that comes from the Ometepe region.

In 2005 Bolivar was reblended by the legendary cigar maker, Daniel Nunez. With the changes new life was injected into a once sleepy brand. The result is a robust, smooth, relaxing cigar with a slight sweetness on the palate. The burn and draw are even on the Bolivar 2005 cigar. It exudes raisin notes, a sweet earthiness and a hint of spice on its long finish. with high ratings from Cigar Aficionado year after year for nearly all 5 of the sizes, the Bolivar will not disappoint. Viva Bolivar!
